An RTITB Approved Training Course which enables you to drive any rigid lorry above 7.5 tons which is one of the most common types of lorry. Candidates must be at least 18 years old and hold a full Cat B (car) license and Provisional Cat C license which covers you for LGV driver training. You will also attain your Driver Qualification Card also known as Initial Driver CPC. The course also involves some home study with which we will assist you. MODULE 1 - This Module is a theory test which consists of a 100 questions and hazard perception taken at a DSA test centre MODULE 2 - This module is a computer based test and uses case studies, each one based on real-life scenarios you may encounter in your working life as an LGV driver, aiming to test your knowledge and how you put theory into practice. This will be done at a DSA test centre MODULE 3 - This module is the practical element of the training in which the candidate demonstrates there ability to drive a vehicle of the vocational licence they require this test is done at DVSA centre, MODULE 4 - Module 2 has be passed before attempting module 4, the practical test which focuses on vehicle safety and security is taken at a DVSA test centre

What is the minimum age for driving an LGV? In September 2009, in accordance with the implementation of Driver CPC, the minimum age for driving an LGV vehicle was reduced to 18 from 21 years old.
How long will my LGV Licence last? You will have your LGV Licence till your 45 however you will be required to renew your LGV Licence every 5 years. When you renew your licence you are required to sign a declaration to confirm you are healthy & fit enough to drive a commercial vehicle. When you reach 45 you must pass a medical & again every 5 years thereafter to confirm you are physically able to drive LGV professionally.
