AED – (Automated External Defibrillator)
Lifesaving equipment which hugely increases the survival rate of a person following cardiac arrest and many workplaces and leisure facilities now have an AED. This course can be delivered as part of a package where we can assist with choosing an AED. Initial Course – Duration 4 hours (minimum 4 per course) Price £60- this includes VAT, 3 year registration & Handbook.
Candidates requiring AED training will also require Basic First Aid Additional Course – Duration 1 hour (minimum 4 per course)- Price £40 Candidates will have completed at least 6 hours EFAW training and solely require training on AED equipment.

What is AED? AED stands for Automated External Defilbrillator. An AED is used to administer an electric shock to a person who is in Cardiac Arrest. AED's are designed for non-medical people to help save lives.
Why are AED's needed? AED's save lives. When a person experiences a Sudden Cardiac Arrest, the heart's regular rhythm becomes chaotic or arrhythmic. Every minute that the heart isn't beating lowers the odds of survival by 7% to 0%. Is AED hard to use? AED's are very easy to use. An AED can be used by everyone who has been shown what to do.
